STUDENTS FOR SUSTAINABILITY CONFERENCE (S4S)
8th grader Ella Farr has had her artwork selected to be on display during this year’s Students For Sustainability Conference!
St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes School is hosting the ninth annual Students for Sustainability Conference (S4S) on Monday, April 24, 2017, from 4 – 7:30 pm. Students from Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Maryland applied to attend an afternoon dedicated to the arts and sustainability.
The conference focuses on how artists play a significant role in raising awareness about the planet. As their website states “Art shows the beauty of the earth and the diversity of its creatures. Art calls humans to reflect and to react to the condition of the earth and its decreased ability sustain life in the future.”
Student artists were invited to express their concern for the health and well-being of our common home – the earth. Ella will share and discuss her work at the conference with other students and teachers. Members of the regional arts community, including painters, photographers, poets, dancers, and sculptors, will also share their work and artistic processes.
