Teach Children to Save Day

On April 12, Sheridan’s 4th through 8th graders participated for the first time in Teach Children to Save Day. For 15 years the Teach Children to Save program has partnered banks with students to raise awareness about the important role that banks and bankers play in helping young people develop lifelong savings habits. As recent research has shown, a child with a savings account in their name is seven times more likely to go to college. Lessons about saving were taught by PNC bankers, the President of the American Bankers Association, Governor Frank Keating, and the Sheridan math teachers.
