We believe exploring schools for your child should be a positive, joyful experience.
That's why we keep it simple.

Sheridan is one of the many independent schools that uses Ravenna Solutions to manage the application process from inquiry through decision. Almost all of the steps that follow, including submitting an application, registering for events and collecting supporting documents, happen in Ravenna.

Please begin the admission process by creating a family profile in Ravenna and choosing Sheridan as a school you’re exploring. From there, follow the steps below to submit an application and begin your journey.

Student Writing Sample (Grades 4-8 Only)
A writing sample is required for students applying to Grades 4-8, and instructions for completion are detailed in Ravenna.

Teacher Recommendations
Two current teacher recommendations are required. Please follow the steps in Ravenna to request the recommendation from your child’s teacher.

Current School Transcript
Please submit a transcript from your child’s current school detailing their academic progress and attendance history for at least two years. Forms and instructions for requesting a transcript are in Ravenna.

Testing Note
We do not require or consider WPPSI / WISC / SSAT / ISEE tests as part of the admissions process.

Parent Conversation (Optional)
The Parent Conversation is a one-on-one opportunity for you to ask questions about Sheridan, and for us to get to know your child and family.

Student Meeting
Student meetings for applicants to Grades 2-8 are designed to be welcoming, informative, and low-stress.

While we hope to hold in-person student visits this fall and winter, our plans depend on the status of COVID-19 in the local community and guidance from DC Health. We will share more information as it becomes available.
