Focusing exclusively on the educational needs of elementary and middle school students allows us to offer a program that meets children where they are developmentally. This model allows us to provide a challenging curriculum in a safe and nurturing environment. In schools that go through 12th grade, school culture tends to orbit around the high school.

At at a time in their lives that can typically be full of awkwardness, our middle schoolers instead build their confidence and reinforce their characters by acting as school leaders. Our Buddy Program pairs older and younger students in study, play, and personal guidance, ensuring strong connections across our student community.

Sheridan students, along with their parents, benefit greatly from the opportunity to choose the right high school at the right time. By 8th grade, a child’s strengths, learning styles, and interests are clearly understood, making it easier to determine the best match for high school.

With a strong foundation in critical thinking, advocacy, and social skills, students leave Sheridan prepared for new academic and social challenge.

A recent study in the AMERICAN EDUCATION RESEARCH JOURNAL confirms why a K-8 school is beneficial. Students who attended a K-8 school are more comfortable, feel safer, and ultimately perform better academically than their counterparts at traditional middle or 6-12 schools.
