ADMISSIONS STEPS FOR GRADES K & 1

We believe exploring schools for your child should be a positive, joyful experience.
That's why we keep it simple.

REGISTER IN RAVENNA

Sheridan is one of the many independent schools that uses Ravenna Solutions to manage the application process from inquiry through decision. Almost all of the steps that follow, including submitting an application, registering for events and collecting supporting documents, happen in Ravenna.

Please begin the admission process by creating a family profile in Ravenna and choosing Sheridan as a school you’re exploring. From there, follow the steps below to submit an application and begin your journey.

Teacher Recommendation
One current teacher recommendation is required. Please follow the steps in Ravenna to request the recommendation from your child’s teacher.

Testing Note
We do not require or consider WPPSI / WISC tests as part of the admissions process.

COMPLETE SUPPORTING STEPS

Parent Conversation
The Parent Conversation is a one-on-one opportunity for you to ask questions about Sheridan, and for us to get to know your child and family.

Student Meeting
Student meetings for applicants to Grades K & 1 at Sheridan are designed to be fun, engaging, and low-stress. We gather a small group of prospective students together with Sheridan teachers for storytime, cooperative play, and a short individual assessment.

While we hope to hold in-person student visits this fall and winter, our plans depend on the status of COVID-19 in the local community and guidance from DC Health. We will share more information as it becomes available.
