At Sheridan, we strive to ensure that every student who is offered admission to our school has the opportunity to be part of our community and take advantage of Sheridan has to offer, regardless of family finances.
Financial aid awards at Sheridan are based primarily on three factors:
- Demonstrated financial need as determined by guidelines provided by TADS
- Consideration of specific family situations or emergencies, and
- Availability of funds approved annually by the Sheridan Board of Trustees
Financial need is defined as the difference between the cost of an education and a family’s ability to contribute to that cost. We believe that parents have an obligation to provide for their child’s education to the extent that they are able and therefore utilize the services of TADS to help determine a family’s eligibility for financial aid. Several factors including income, assets, liabilities and the number of children in tuition-charging schools are taken into consideration when determining eligibility for a financial aid award.
The complexity of the financial aid formula means we cannot provide analysis without a full application, but we encourage all families who believe that they may be eligible to apply.
Note: While families must reapply for aid each year, unless there is a significant change in demonstrated need, we are committed to continuing support at the original level of funding.
Applying for Financial Aid
To apply for financial aid, families must submit their application through the TADS Financial Aid System. Please note that if you are applying to another school that requires completion of a financial aid application other than with TADS, you will need to submit applications to both service providers.
In accordance with Sheridan’s Financial Aid Policy and Procedures, parents who are divorced, separated or have never been married are both required to file the TADS Financial Aid Application.
Required Materials and Deadlines
The process of fairly determining needs requires that we ask some detailed questions about your finances. Please read our Financial Aid Policy and review the deadlines below:
Please Note: The number of financial aid applicants who qualify for grants may be greater than the amount of funds available. As a result, it is possible to be offered admission to Sheridan and be placed on a waiting list for financial aid.
