Join us this Friday, May 31st, at 8:30 am for the 38th Annual Jennifer Paul Debates. Begun in memory of a Sheridan graduate who had a deep interest in politics, the debates center around three complex topics chosen by the 8th grade class. Every 8th grade student participates, choosing a topic, a team, and a side. Judges from the Sheridan community evaluate the teams on their argument, evidence and delivery.
The following questions will be the focus of this year’s debates:
- Slavery Reparations: How should they be distributed?
- Gun Violence: What is the best strategy for reducing it in the United States?
- Anti-Vaccination Movement: What is the best way to confront it?
All parents are invited to attend. Hope to see you there!
