Athletics

Join a Team!

A member of the Capital Athletic Conference, Sheridan offers a competitive interscholastic athletics program after school for students in Grades 5-8. Each year, we have teams for soccer, basketball, softball, baseball, and cross country.

We believe that the opportunity to belong to a sports team can enhance the school experience for any student; participating is not only for the athletic stand-outs. There are no tryouts; all students who wish to play are assigned to a team and there is no cost to participate. On game days, everyone loves to participate. Students who aren't playing enthusiastically cheer for their team!

Athletics Philosophy

It is the goal of Sheridan Athletics to prepare our young athletes for life ahead. The program allows students to further explore their sports of interest while teaching them life lessons along the way.

The structure of the program promotes independence, resiliency, teamwork, sportsmanship, accountability, and, most important … fun!

Through healthy competition, we value the character growth of our athletes as much as the skill growth. Many Sheridan athletes go on to play sports in high school and beyond.
