  • Black Lives Matter at School Week

February 5-9 was Black Lives Matter at School Week for Sheridan! This week has been a tradition at our school for the past five years, coinciding with Black History Month, to express solidarity with Black individuals globally and affirm their value and worth. While many schools nationwide participate in this week of solidarity, our school community, dedicated to social justice, sees it as an integral part of our identity. It aligns with our longstanding commitment to recognizing the significance of justice for Black Americans and, indeed, for all of us.
  • Middle School Minimester

We are thrilled to have re-introduced Minimester to Sheridan this year! Minimester is a weeklong program for our middle school students, giving them a chance to engage in small group, out-of-the classroom experiences. For this Minimester, students were divided into mixed age groups, each with an area of focus. These areas were Afrofuturism, DC Murals, DC Music, Food and Culture, Food Justice, Monuments to Unsung Heroes, Outdoors for All, The Power of Words, and Women in Art.
