“We are teachers who inspire — not only through our passion for teaching — but as mentors who model the qualities we hope our children will develop: mindfulness, empathy, persistence, resilience and integrity.”

All homerooms from Kindergarten through Fifth Grade have at least two lead teachers who collaborate in planning, instruction and assessment for reading, writing and social studies. We use an Advisory approach for collaboration in Grades 6-8.

All teachers at Sheridan are equal partners and this model allows for greater differentiation, thoughtful planning, instruction and assessment, and more individualized attention for each child.

Co-teaching helps teachers meet the needs of all students, provides support for complex instruction, and builds classrooms brimming with intellectual and creative energy.
