After School Program

Sheridan’s After-School Program mirrors the school’s child-centered philosophy. Children are encouraged to make their own choices, to be creative, and to pursue their individual interests. Different activities are offered each day.

(The following is based on a traditional school year. During the pandemic, some of our after school programs may be modified).

Our main program, Ex-Club, is a daily program featuring art projects, games, a Study Hall, Enrichment Classes, an Instrumental Program, and Full & Half-Day Programs on many days when school is closed.

Enrichment classes are offered for students in K-8 each semester, including fast-paced options such as breakdancing and karate, more mellow options like cooking or ceramics, and everything in between!

Sheridan offers complimentary group instrumental and voice lessons to students in Grades 2-8. Instruments include ukulele, guitar, drums, violin and marimbas. Private piano lessons are available for a fee. Student recitals are held in the winter and the spring.

When school is not in session due to faculty professional development or conferences, the After School Program offers full- and half-day programs for families in need of child care. The programs typically include an outing to a local attraction, games and art at Sheridan, and outdoor play. Program announcements and registration forms are sent in News & Notes.
